F.I.E. activities are designed to challenge a student cognitively to:

            - think logically and sequentially
            - evaluate
            - analyze (take apart)  and synthesize (bring together)
            - compare
            - categorize
            - be precise and accurate
            - consider multiple sources of information simultaneously
            - select only relevant information
            - inhibit impulsive behavior
            - consider different viewpoints

And much, much more…

This is accomplished through mediation:  directing a student’s thinking through intentional, planned questioning and interaction.  Our goal is to make a student aware of his own thinking process.
